CIZAR ABUGAZALEH
We've reached out to Cizar through Startup SG and he was one of the friendliest, inspiring angel investors and has the biggest heart ever! I remember he responded to our LinkedIn message and was willing to meet up when he travelled to Singapore. Sometimes reaching out takes a lot of guts and this gave us the motivation to keep going and have a leap of faith. Cizar is based in New Zealand but often travels to Singapore to meet his business partners and fun fact, he was one of the Start up SG judges! I feel like I'm in a Shark Tank TV series when I asked him some questions. He personally chose the White Batik Phone Grip and Turquoise Batik Phone.
Q1. What inspired the creation of your company's logo and name?
Our logo and name were inspired by the interconnectedness of our world and the importance of investing not only in business but also in ourselves.
Q2. What do you think is important in starting a business?
Definitely the People, you need like minded people to succeed and a good team.
Q3. What are the chances of businesses/start up to succeed from your experience?
Out of 10 businesses, usually within second year 7/10 business will make it and by the time it comes to the fifth year, 1/10 business will make it.
Q4. What are you currently investing?
I have many businesses and definitely in AI Robots and I have Start up pithing their ideas such as education too.
Q5. Can you describe a particularly memorable startup pitch that impressed you?
The most memorable startup pitch I've encountered was brief, unplanned, and spontaneous, yet it conveyed a clear and easily understandable message.
Q6. What's the best advice you've ever received?
"Health is wealth" (We Agree!)
Q7. Can you share with us your Tagline that you've lived up today?
That's a good question! I think ever since I was starting out, I've always asked myself if I can do it? I've wanted to start a business in Singapore and I did it, I've always wondered what it was like to be a manager just to try it and I did it and I've wanted to see if I could live in New Zealand and I did it. Sky is the limit!
Q8. What advice would you offer to those embarking on their entrepreneurial journey?
Treat your startup as our ultimate resource for success and manage each dollar you have as if it were your last.
Cizar is not only resilient in business, he is also resilient in life during a Tsunami incident.
Q9. You were there during the Tsunami incident? What happened?
We were on a company trip and thankfully we stayed at the top of the hill in Phuket and saw a huge crowd coming up the hill and thinking what's going on. Until we saw bodies washed offshore on the beach..
Cizar is not just an Angel Investor, he is definitely and Angel sent and we're glad to have crossed path! You can take a look at his website at https://www.toshimedia.asia/
Thank you so much, Cizar! We hope to see you soon in Singapore!
